About Arlington –
Located in Tarrant County, Arlington is part of the Mid-Cities region of the Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington Metro area. It is located approximately 12 miles east of downtown Fort Worth and 20 miles west of downtown Dallas.
Arlington is home to University of Texas – Arlington, Texas Health Resources, and home builder D R Horton.
Arlington offers plenty of entertainment to keep you busy. Professional sports teams such as the Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys and Dallas Wings all three call Arlington home. When there’s not a game to attend, get your heart-racing at Six Flags Over Texas or Hurricane Harbor. In 2018 Texas Live, a $250 Million mix-use entertainment district opened.
Arlington ISD –
Arlington Independent School District is the 11th largest school district in Texas. There are nearly 62,000 students enrolled in the district and has a staff of 8,500 making it the largest employer in the city. The average teacher salary for the district is $55,999.
In 2017, Arlington ISD was selected as one of the Best Communities for Music Education for the 13th time and had 19 students selected to the All-State Band, Orchestra and Choir. Sports programs including football, volleyball, soccer, basketball, and baseball have all made recent playoff appearances. All the gymnastics teams in the district advanced to the state level and one gymnast recently made a state appearance.
